Had a really negative interaction with the caretaker for these buildings (who I believe is quite closely involved with the patrons). He was very friendly when I went to see the suite I was interested in, and I filled out an application for the building (which was quite nice). The next day he called twice while I was in class, trying to get a hold of me. He left two separate numbers. I called back on both, though after going back and checking I had one digit wrong on one of the numbers. I got no answer for either call and no answering machine. The next morning he called me again, and his manner had entirely changed from when I had met him. He was clearly angry at me for not picking up my phone and not getting a hold of him. I explained that I had tried to call and leave a message he angrily said that he had given me his home phone number. I said maybe I had called the wrong number by accident, and he was clearly still angry. They actually were considering me for the apartment, but at this point I said I wasn't interested, and he gave a curt 'okay, bye' and hung up on me. It's incredibly unreasonable for any rental agency to assume that people will be on call 24/7, or to treat clients so rudely when they haven't contacted them within *a day*. It's even worse when you consider that this is a charity working with low-income and disabled people. I get the feeling they treat people as though they owe them something. Disappointing.
